Technically, this card could never be anything more than fair condition:
Edges: 9.0
Surface: 8.5
Centering: 10.0 Well, you tell me it's off centered!
Corners: -5.0 They aren't there!
Overall: 5.0
I would like to hear how PSA would define these corners and give then anything better than a .5 score.
If this card was a Bryce Harper in this shape and Beckett was doing a video break for Topps we all know this would be a BGS 9.5.
I feel sorry for people that have to have graded cards.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with people doing whatever they want with there cards because it's not my business, but, I have never owned one and have never seen the appeal to have one.
DeleteIt's like having a piece of candy you can never eat.
I'm more of a baseball card collector than investor. Sometimes just the smell of the cards is what draws me to them. I like the tactile side of collecting.
My guess is that they would put a little "n/a" for corners and then average them differently. Also, I bet they have a standard for centering of every card, even for these. I have wondered that about full-bleed cards, particularly those with no names or logos such as some Colla Collection cards. Is there a defined centering standard for every single card ever created?
ReplyDeleteI've never had anything graded so these are strictly guesses, but I'm fascinated by measuring standards.
I imagine all the sets have their own standards but I don't think I could sit there card after card and grade them.
